Explanation Jokers Gold

Jokers Gold is a fruit machine that has been implemented entirely in Flash. The game has a wide range of features: the basic game, Higher/Lower (Mystery Prize, Pick a Prize and Super Match) and on top of that the Club Jackpot, which increases with every game played and can run to thousands of pounds.

The aim of the game is to get certain combinations of symbols to appear on the reels, which gets you extra credits or points. The way the points works is explained below.

How do I play the game?

The machine starts off in the basic game:
The reels begin to spin when the START button is pressed. They stop automatically in some particular position. There are several alternatives: you may or may not have won a prize, and you may or may not have scored some points. If no prize has turned up, you can keep reels in place by clicking the HOLD button beneath the reel concerned. These reels will not be included when the reels are next spun. The machine can also hold reels automatically, if this could give you a good chance of a prize. You can cancel reels that have been held by clicking the CANCEL button. If you hold one or more reels, then this option will not be available on the next spin.
If you did win a prize, then you can gamble the prize up on the gambling ladder or you can add it to the credits you've won: COLLECT WIN.

If you didn't win a prize, then you might still have scored some points.
Numbers have been added to a few of the symbols. The options for playing the HIGHER / LOWER card game are determined by the total of these numbers:

0 to 3 points: no effect
4 points: MYSTERY NUMBER
5 points: SAME IS ENOUGH
6 points: ANOTHER CARD
7 points: JOKER
8 points: CARD GAME
9 points: CARD GAME
10 points: JOKER and CARD GAME

MYSTERY NUMBER
A total of four points starts the Mystery Number: the card ladder flashes between five and ten points. You can use the STOP button to try to get at least eight points and then play the HIGHER / LOWER card game.

SAME IS ENOUGH
When the total is five points, the SAME IS ENOUGH light is lit up. This means that a card of the same value moves to the next step on the prize ladder in the HIGHER / LOWER card game.

CHANGE CARD
When the total is six points, the CHANGE CARD light is lit up. When the CHANGE CARD button is pressed in the HIGHER / LOWER card game, a new card is dealt. This does not move another step up the prize ladder.

JOKER
When the total is seven or ten points, the JOKER light is lit up. So it is possible to have two JOKERS. When lit, the JOKER button can be pressed to move another step up in the card game.

The HIGHER/LOWER card game

The HIGHER/LOWER card game is a feature in which you can take steps up the prize ladder by correctly guessing whether the value of the next card is higher or lower than the card shown. There are twelve cards in the game: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, jack, queen, king and ace. The 4 is higher than the 3, and so forth. You pick HIGHER by pressing the STOP button when the HIGHER lamp is lit and you go for LOWER if you press the STOP button while the LOWER lamp is lit.

There are four extra elements in the card game, which are explained here below:

Mystery Prize

The third and the fifth steps in the card game give a (super) mystery prize. This is a random prize of between 2 and 40 credits. The size of the MYSTERY PRIZE is shown in the display. The prize can be taken, or you can play on up the prize ladder.

Pick a Prize

The seventh step in the card game gives you the option of playing the PICK PRIZE game.
In this game, four prizes are shown in sequence. It's up to you which prize you pick. If you don't make a choice (by pressing the STOP button) you automatically get the fourth winning combination. The number of identical symbols on the win line is determined at random.

Super Match

The tenth step in the card game gives you the option of playing the SUPER MATCH game.
If this game is selected, the right hand reel will start to spin. The reel is stopped when the STOP button is pressed. The symbol shown on the win line determines the size of the prize. The number of identical symbols on the win line is determined at random.

All prizes on the prize ladder that you have taken by pressing the TAKE WIN button can be gambled up on the gambling ladder or can be added to the credits you have won by pressing the TAKE WIN button again.
